24 Hours
of Snowshoe:
Coach Doug is away on a two week training trip in prep for a solo
shot at the 24-hours of Snowshoe on June 9th in Snowshoe, WV.
Coach Cozy is getting the co-ed team ready. I'm told that a couple
of support people / mechanic would be a huge help to the Rage
efforts. If you're interested in a great weekend (plus the thrills
of West Virginia -- front yard car-up-on-blocks displays, kissing
cousins, etc.), contact cozycozy@ragemtb.com.
Gary Fisher
and Subaru hook up:
Gary Fisher's world cup team lost the Saab sponsorship, but gained
Subaru as a lead sponsor after they dumped Specialized (it's all
very confusing). Sorry Saab drivers, but Subaru's are a much cooler
car (there, I've just offended someone else besides West Virginians).
Downhillers:
The downhill team (Allen, Stephe, Matty) head out to the National
race at Big Bear, CA next week -- good luck guys (holy travel)!
Tri Team:
Coach Megan Ribaudo (along with mom and dad) leads 12 die hard
Ragers as they hit the slopes of Killington this weekend for the
Killington off-road Triathlon. Good luck!
Upcoming
Sponsored XC Races:
Here are the sponsored races for June. We've had huge turnouts
at the last couple of races, so get your name in early for a spot:
* June 3
-- Bradbury Mountain - EFTA NECS #3 -- speedfest 2 hours from
Boston. Camping available (just lock up all your stuff or you
might see Joselle racing the next morning in clothing and/or
bike parts that look familiar ;)
* June 17
-- Thunder & Lightning, Killington -- since the Trail66 series
died suddenly this year, this will be the only chance to race
Killington's killer course. We're trying to make up for one
of the Trail 66 dates by adding this one to the list. NORBA
/ AMBC race.
* June 24
-- Bearbrook, NH - EFTA NECS #4 -- as close as you can get to
Doug Hoch's home course. "The best race of the year" (note,
only to be followed by another "best race of the year" at the
Eastern Cup on July 8th).
Other
Races:
This weekend, there are two great races on the calendar. These
aren't sponsored, but hey, reaching into your own pocket for a
little fun isn't the end of the world, eh? There's a race Sunday
morning at Wompy (www.efta.com) and another great one Monday in
Vermont at the Coyote Hill Mountain Bike camp (100% singletrack
course -- check out www.coyotehillcamp.com).
Have
a great week and remember, Dried Plums are great energy AND keep
you oh, so regular.
