2 0 0 1 R A C E R E S U L T S Eastern Cup, Williston, VT - July 8, 2001 While Jeff is compiling the results from yesterday's race in Claremont, NH, here's the results from the Eastern Cup held in Williston, Vermont. Adam Bucklin and Ben Moody have been finishing first and second in nearly every race (including the Canadian National Championships) that they've entered this year. The Eastern Cup was no different. The Harpoon / International / Dried Plums team led every lap -- despite the fact that Ben had spent the prior Saturday in the emergency room after a bad crash. After the final climb, Adam and Ben were leading and headed into the descent. Ben crashed hard and recovered in time to hang onto a third place finish. Adam took the win and the state championship in the Pro/Expert open category --- way to go guys! Adam and Ben are not only good riders, they're good guys. After their race, the stayed and supported our beginner riders by handing up water bottles during the race. Jacob Ringquist took all that support for the win in the men's junior race -- nice job Jake! Inspired from the Snowshoe 24-hour race, Chris Buzzell ripped off a 3rd place finish in the women's beginner open race -- wow! Barry Price took 11th in the men's 30-39 beginner race and Hank Kells took 15th. Mike Tabaczynski took 12th in the beginner men's 40-49 race and Tim Post took 16th. In the Expert race, Damon "I will not finish outside of the top ten" Parke took 6th and Nate Ringquist came across in 8th place. Chris Smith took 33rd in the Expert men's 30-39 race. In what's always a heavily contested Sport race, Leo Devellian took 11th in the men's 30-39 category and Jen Ringquist also took 11th place in the women's sport race. This season, the team has taken the Massachusetts, Rhode Island and now the Vermont championships! Team Rage / Harpoon / International proudly rides the fastest bikes in the business - Gary Fisher along with Panaracer tires and makes everything work smoothly with Pedros lubrication products. We're also fueled by the best-kept secret in sports nutrition -- the venerable dried plum, from the California Dried Plums board (yes, that is the secret behind our winning). |
