7th
Annual Rage on Otis and Trail of Tears
MAY 7-9, 2004
NOTE: We will be camping at a new venue...look below for more
info!
Time to kick off the 2004 riding season with the 7th Annual Rage On Otis
and Trail of Tears Weekend. This year the dates are May 7-8-9. By all
indications, such as emails and the results of the poll, we expect over
75 ragers to be there this year - last year we were 60 strong.
We will ride at Otis on Saturday morning, ride stunts and socialize at
the campsite Saturday afternoon and evening and then ride Trail of Tears
on Sunday morning. And, as if that sweet singletrack isn't enough goodness
for a whole weekend, we are pleased to announce that everyone's favorite
cold beverage brand, HARPOON BREWERY is sponsoring us this year (you know
what that means....mmmmm, beer!*)
* 21 and over only, please
What
you need to do
Please send
an email to Tim (Tim@rageMTB.com) saying:
1. "Yes - I want to go and be part of the 7th Annual Rage On Otis
& TOT Weekend"
2. Let him know if you are flying solo or bringing someone else (# of
campers).
3. This is important – give him your real
name – not your cyber-alias, aka, mumbo-jumbo, rage nickname, etc.
4. Payment:
Complete payment will be required to reserve a campsite and it won’t happen if it is last minute. You are not on the list unless Tim has your payment. The final cost is $15 per person total (yes, for the whole weekend!), and the first 25 people who gets Tim their money will get a t-shirt! So ante up fast!
If you have PayPal setup please make a payment to post_t@hotmail.com.
If PayPal is a real problem for you - then you can pay Tim directly with cash or a check at Redbones on Thursday April 15, 2004.

(or at least be
able to supply blackmail pictures of other Ragers acting stupid - perfect
material for the web page!!!).
Where
We'll be staying at the Cape Cod Camping Resort in Falmouth.
Note: This is a new campsite for us
The campsite is located at 176 Thomas Landers Road in East Falmouth...about
4-5 miles from the rotary at Otis Airforce Base. This campsite has no
alcohol restrictions. However, they will be asking EVERYONE in our group
to sign a liability waiver upon arrival due to the risk of stunt riding
that will likely occur.
Also New This Year: We will be riding to Otis from the campsite on the
Moraine Trail which parallels Rte.28 from Falmouth Center to the Otis
rotary (ride distance 2+ miles road / 2 miles singletrack).
Lastly, the campsite manager would like us to conform to a local town
zoning ordinance and only have 2 tents per site, so sort yourselves out
accordingly when you get there...there will be plenty of room.
Directions
From Boston:
Take I 93 south to I 95 south (isn't it actually labelednorth?!?!?) then
take Rte 24 south to I 495 south.
I 495 will turn into Rte 28.
Follow until you cross the Bourne Bridge and go half way around the rotary
staying on Rte. 28 south.
Go about 10 miles (through the second rotary at Otis - keep on Rte. 28
south toward Woods Hole and the Ferries) until you see the exit for Thomas
Landers Road (about 2 mile past Rte. 151).
Take this exit and turn left at the bottom of the ramp.
Going East on Thomas Landers Road, follow for about 2.5 miles until you
see the Cape Cod Camp resort on the right side.
Check in at the entrance gate and proceed to the campsites.
From Worcester/West:
Take 495 south to the Bourne Bridge and you can follow the directions
from above.
Pet
Policy
Pets restrained on leashes and supervised at all times are allowed. But,
we would highly discourage you from bringing your dog on the rides
in respect for your fellow riders. Dogs often get in the way and
can be a hazard to other riders who aren't used to them, as well as themselves.
